MTA – Mobile Travel Agents is a highly respected company within the travel industry, I know I checked! The buying power they have allows me to be very competitive with other major travel businesses. I am now being paid for my worth and living the lifestyle I want. Being able to give my clients the personalised attention that I can now as a MTA Mobile Travel Agent is wonderful and they really appreciate this too. I could not recommend MTA – Mobile Travel Agents more highly. I have been working in the travel industry for over 30 years for large and very small organisations and just wish I could have been working with MTA – Mobile Travel Agents for a lot longer.

1. Its 7:00 am and already I have cleared my inbox while sitting in my dressing gown drinking a coffee.
2. Next I will get my daughter ready for school (and drop her there myself).

4. Afterwards, I pick up my daughter from school (myself!) and have afternoon tea with her.
5. I will call one of my clients in Queensland (I am in Tassie) and put together the final details for their family of four's first overseas holiday to USA.
6. By the time my husband gets home from work (6:00 pm, after driving for 45 minutes each way to commute) I have tea on, daughter in the bath, and have added about $1,800 to my income for the year.

After working in the Travel Industry my entire career, I found myself living in a town without a Travel Agency. I looked into opening my own Travel Agency, however, with a young family; I knew I could not commit the time needed in running a business. I wanted to be a Mum and wife first. I was also worried about the money involved in setting up an agency – it's a lot of money and something I was not prepared to “gamble”.

I stumbled across MTA - Mobile Travel Agents late one evening after Googling information on working from home. I emailed and immediately had a friendly response from Andrew – the General Manager. I knew within minutes of talking to Andrew over the phone - this was for me! Before long, I was welcomed to the MTA - Mobile Travel Agents group and I have NO regrets.

Working from home is fantastic and I'm not going to try to begin to list all the benefits. I'm “at home” for my children and husband which is my # 1 priority. I found my client base and local community have embraced the concept of their Travel Agent being “mobile”. Clients stop me in the street and the supermarket to ask me about their next trip. I can hang my washing out or stir dinner while I'm on hold to an airline. I can attend my children's school events and still “work”. I got two new bookings and did a Travel Insurance quote while I was attending my kids Athletics carnival! Just the other day I delivered documents to a client, busy at his home workshop with welders and cranes surrounding us, leaning on his ute bonnet explaining his airline tickets. This is what I and so many other consultants love about working with MTA - Mobile Travel Agents. No day is ever the same!!

I'm contributing to my family's income AND doing a job that I love! It is honestly the best decision I have made in a long time. Originally, it was a HUGE decision for me to join MTA - Mobile Travel Agents. I had always affiliated myself (long term) with large companies such as Singapore Airlines, Royal Brunei Airlines and NAB Travel and was paid on a fortnightly basis. To join a locally based family run business and to be paid on a commission basis proved a challenging decision for me to make. However, I was at a stage in my life where I wanted to choose my working hours and holiday dates mainly to fit in with my family’s needs. I also wanted to sell products my clients travel needs required and not the so-called “preferred” products which were not suitable but many agencies make you sell!

The knowledge that MTA - Mobile Travel Agents was affiliated with Travelscene/AMEX and run by a loving caring family made my decision easy in the end. Due to this I decided to join the happy family especially after personally meeting Karen, Roy & all the staff in the head office. MTA – Mobile Travel Agents ticked all the boxes as far as I was concerned.

I also love the fact Karen has such insight 11+ years ago and was aware that there were a lot of very experienced travel personnel out there who had not lost their travel knowledge just because they had “had a baby”! However, these wonderful people did not want to be restricted to working office hours or late night/weekend work due to family commitments. Karen was unlike the large global companies who were afraid of the word “job share” a decade ago. Their input into years of training and being afraid of the new “job share” concept ended up being their loss and MTA – Mobile Travel Agents’ gain! What a great source of knowledge Karen ended up tapping into!

Well, what I can say except I that after 5 years I couldn’t be happier! I wished I had joined the team the year MTA – Mobile Travel Agents started! I am so happy being part of the MTA – Mobile Travel Agents team that apparently, without my knowledge, MTA – Mobile Travel Agents ends up being contacted by other agency consultants I meet on famil’s or at travel functions wanting to join!

Why would you work anywhere else?

I feel honoured & proud to say where I work when asked. I hand out my business cards & wear my MTA – Mobile Travel Agents shirt with pride! I believe I will be “old bones” when the time comes to part which I hope will be in many, many years away… and I plan to only leave MTA – Mobile Travel Agents due to old age!

Wow MTA - Mobile Travel Agents is the perfect family and I am very proud to be part of that family. I have been in the industry now for just on 20 years and have worked for many big and small Retail and Corporate agencies and I honestly have never been happier with my career than I am now.
